Raj: We’ve been praying for you, Emma. How’s it going? Any progress with the language school?
Emma: Slow but steady. It feels like I’m chipping away at a mountain with a teaspoon—yet I know the One who started this work won’t drop the project halfway. He always brings things to the finish line.
Chloe: That reminds me: whether you’re running free or stuck in quarantine, we’re still partners in all of this. Distance doesn’t change that.
Marcus: Absolutely. Our wins and losses are tied together. It’s wild to think we’re sharing the same grace, even from opposite sides of the globe.
Lia: Emma, you’ve got us in your corner—every early-morning class, every awkward conversation. And honestly, you’re in our hearts just as much.
Emma (grins): Believe me, the feeling’s mutual. I carry you all around like photos in my wallet. Sometimes I catch myself smiling at the thought of each of you.
Raj: So, how can we pray right now?
Emma: Here’s my biggest request: that our love keeps overflowing—not a fuzzy, feel-good love, but one that grows wiser and deeper every day. The kind that can spot what’s truly valuable and act on it.
Chloe: Love that sees clearly—count us in. We’ll pray for insight to match our compassion.
Marcus: And for perseverance, so when the tough pieces show up, we remember the bigger picture.
Emma: Exactly. The story isn’t finished yet—none of us are. But I’m confident we’ll look back one day and see a masterpiece, not random brushstrokes.
The call ends with smiles and quick goodbyes, each friend newly energized to live and love with greater clarity.

The Message
So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well. Learn to love appropriately. You need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush. Live a lover’s life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.
I want to report to you, friends, that my imprisonment here has had the opposite of its intended effect. Instead of being squelched, the Message has actually prospered. All the soldiers here, and everyone else, too, found out that I’m in jail because of this Messiah.
