Inspired by Philippians 4:4-6

Pray about everything.

Scene — Park bench at sunset. Runners glide past as Leah and Tori cradle take-out coffees, sky fading from peach to indigo.

Tori: I’m running on fumes. Work, family—my mind never clocks out. How do you stay so calm?

Leah: I used to spiral, too. Then I tried something simple: pray about everything, big or small.

Tori: Prayer? And it actually helps?

Leah: More than I’d guessed. I spill it all to God—fears, hopes, half-formed questions—then thank Him for the tiniest things. Peace always follows.

Tori: So you just pick joy and quit worrying?

Leah: I still feel the worry; I just don’t hand it the steering wheel—Joy’s a decision. Prayer turns panic into trust.

Tori: Maybe it’s time I stop rehearsing my stress and start releasing it.

Leah: Exactly. Joy, gratitude, prayer. Not magic—faith. And it works.

Joy, gratitude, and prayer aren’t magic—they’re faith in motion. And they work.

God’s Word…

Holman Christian Standard Bible

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your graciousness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. 6 Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

-Philippians 4:4-6(HCSB)

The Message

4-5 Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in him! Make it as clear as you can to all you meet that you’re on their side, working with them and not against them. Help them see that the Master is about to arrive. He could show up any minute!

6-7 Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down.

-Philippians 4:4-6(The Message)
