True freedom in Christ doesn’t come from community approval. It comes from standing with God, even when you stand alone.
Scene: Sidewalk café, late afternoon. Cars hum by as Thomas and Ray sip iced tea.
Thomas:
You ever feel like everyone’s doing good just to be seen?
Ray:
All the time. Social media is full of it—smiles, donations, hashtags. But when the hard truth shows up, people scatter.
Thomas:
That’s what’s been bothering me. I stayed quiet in a meeting last week when they twisted something wrong into right. Everyone nodded… and I did too.
Ray:
We’ve all been there. It’s easy to play along, but peace doesn’t come from applause; it comes from obedience.
Thomas:
I thought being a “good guy” was enough. But maybe I’ve been chasing comfort, not conviction.
Ray:
There’s a difference. One pleases people. The other pleases God. And only one sets you free.
Thomas:
So what now?
Ray:
Start small. Tell the truth when it’s hard. Stand up quietly when others bow down. That’s where real freedom lives.
Thomas:
Even if no one claps?
Ray:
Especially then.
When you live for God and not applause, you may walk alone—but you’ll never walk in vain.
