Inspired by Song of Solomon 2:4-11, this conversation reveals where Christ invites every soul into a personal relationship under His banner of love, and a prophetic glimpse of the rapture reveals the Bridegroom’s call from the mountaintop.
Scene: Two friends sit outside as twilight settles in. Fireflies dance in the yard, and the sound of crickets rises with the cool evening air. Their Bibles rest open, and the words of Song of Solomon 2:4-11 shape their quiet reflection.
Anna:
You know, verse 4 always gets me. “He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.” That’s not just poetry—it’s an invitation. Jesus is saying, “Come sit with Me. You belong here.”
Michael:
Exactly. And notice—it’s not our effort that brings us in. He brings us. We don’t sneak in or try to earn our seat. He welcomes us personally, and the banner over us isn’t judgment or shame. It’s love. That’s salvation in one verse.
Anna:
Yes—and it’s for everyone. I picture the marriage supper of the Lamb. No one who belongs to Him will be left out. His banner waves over all who trust Him.
Michael:
Then we get to verse 8—“The voice of my beloved! Behold, he comes leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills.” Do you hear how sudden it sounds? Like a glimpse of the rapture. The Bridegroom calls, and His people recognize His voice instantly.
Anna:
It gives me chills. Paul’s words echo the same truth: “The Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout…” (1 Thessalonians 4:16). It’s the same Beloved voice calling us upward. That verse paints the scene—He’s on His way, nothing can stop Him, not mountains, not hills.
Michael:
And then verses 10 and 11—“Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone.” That’s such a tender command. He calls us out of the cold season into eternal spring. The winter of sin, sorrow, and death will be gone forever.
Anna:
It makes me think about today. Spiritually, He’s calling us even now—”Rise up, come away, leave behind the old life.” And prophetically, it’s the call we’re all waiting for. The ultimate “Come away.”
Michael:
Yes. The picture is both now and not yet. Now, we live under His banner of love. Soon, we’ll hear His voice calling us home.
Anna:
That’s the beauty of Song of Solomon 2:4-11. It reassures us that His love covers us now, and it gives us hope that the day is coming when He’ll gather us to Himself.
Michael:
So, while we wait, we rest in His love and live with expectation.
The reflection of Song of Solomon 2:4-11 reminds us: His banner over us is love today, and His voice will call us home tomorrow.

Song of Solomon 2:4-11
He brought me to the banquet hall,
and he looked on me with love.
5 Sustain me with raisins;
refresh me with apricots,
for I am lovesick.
6 His left hand is under my head,
and his right arm embraces me.
7 Young women of Jerusalem, I charge you
by the gazelles and the wild does of the field:
do not stir up or awaken love
until the appropriate time.
8 Listen! My love is approaching.
Look! Here he comes,
leaping over the mountains,
bounding over the hills.
9 My love is like a gazelle
or a young stag.
Look, he is standing behind our wall,
gazing through the windows,
peering through the lattice.
10 My love calls to me:
Arise, my darling.
Come away, my beautiful one.
11 For now the winter is past;
the rain has ended and gone away.
