But to be simple—
to be bare and honest,
to walk without pretense
and still not flinch—
that takes a lifetime of breaking.
Simplicity is learned
the way a tree learns from the wind,
swaying, cracking,
sometimes losing whole branches,
yet still rooted,
still reaching toward the sky.
Simplicity is not silence.
It is the steady voice that remains
after the shouting dies down.
It is the truth that does not beg for defense,
because truth simply is.
To live simply,
one must drink deep from the well of suffering,
taste the iron of sorrow,
bury pride in the dust
and still rise.
To live simply,
one must have depth—
oceans behind the eyes,
storms etched into the soul,
scars that teach endurance.
Simple requires depth.
And depth is carried with reverence,
armored not in human strength
but in the armor of God—
belt of truth,
breastplate of righteousness,
shield of faith,
sword of the Spirit.
Simple requires depth.
And depth stands ready,
unbroken,
alive in Christ.
Living simply is not weakness—it is strength forged through trial, held steady by faith, and protected by the armor of God.
