Let God Have Tomorrow

Let God Have Tomorrow is a faith-centered poem about surrender, peace, and trust. Discover the courage to live in the present and let God hold tomorrow.

Yesterday clawed at the mind,
dragging chains made of memories—
regrets that cut deep,
faces and words that never left quietly.
Tomorrow mocked from the shadows,
whispering worry like a thief in the night,
stealing the stillness of today
with fears that never happened.

There comes a time
when a soul grows tired of the noise—
of overthinking every second,
of bargaining with the future,
of living half-alive in the name of control.
So it stands still,
bruised and trembling,
and finally breathes.

Right here.
Right now.
The ground beneath the feet is holy enough.
The sky above is wide enough.
The air, thin and sacred,
is a prayer that never needs to be spoken.

The world won’t stop spinning if tomorrow waits.
The bills, the pain, the unfinished dreams—
they’ll all still be there in the morning.
But God will be there too.
And that’s the difference.

There’s freedom in surrender,
but it’s not soft.
It’s the kind that rips open the heart
and dares the spirit to trust.
To say,
“Enough, Lord.
You take it.
I’m done wrestling shadows.”

Living in the present
isn’t ignorance—it’s courage.
It’s standing in the fire
and realizing the flame refines, not destroys.
It’s knowing that even when
the answers haven’t come,
the Presence already has.

So let the future ache in its own corner.
Let the past crumble back to dust.
Walk barefoot through this moment
as if it’s the only ground that matters—
because it is.

This is where God meets His children,
not in the maybes,
not in the should-have-beens,
but in the breath you just took,
and the one you’re about to take next.

Tomorrow belongs to Him—
and that’s mercy,
not mystery.

So stop running ahead.
Stop looking back.
Stand where you are,
lift your eyes,
and live.

Let God have tomorrow.
He already does.
